Santamaría Gourmet Coffee has been invited by NASA scientists to partner on the James Webb Space Telescope project.  The inside material of coffee bags will be used to create a replica of the tennis court sized sun shield of the space telescope to promote science education. The telescope is scheduled for launch in October 2018.  We are collecting used Santamaría Coffee bags for this project.  Once collected, kids from around the Huntsville, Alabama area, along with missionary kids from Costa Rica, will be assembling these bags into  sections.  These sections will be assembled into the full- sized sunshield replica in May 2016 at the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

Santamaría Gourmet Coffee is proud to be part of this project in the  advancement of science, specifically for the opportunity to involve kids in the hands on process of science and the opportunity to do a small part in protecting the amazing earth the Lord has given us by re-using these coffee bags for education.

If you have coffee bags for donation, please send them to one of the following locations.
